Desperado has been together as long as 1975 which makes one of Holland's oldest country bands.

There has been a major number of changes as far as personnel concerned but the quality has always remained the same…. very high quality. Hundreds of gigs within Holland but also outside have been done and the results were always the same.

Very solid and tight music! The music is without any doubt country music but Desperado also is capable of playing music with a popsound which makes them strongly in demand at company parties and such.
Their attitude is to deliver a qualilty sound for as many people as possible.
They seriously try to also gain the respect and admiration of those who are not country-fans by heart.

Nevertheless they seem to be able to obtain the respect of those people.
Every member within the band is a first class musician but there is no doubt whatsoever that their lady singer Jony is a major focusing point. Her vocals have no limits. No wonder as she has been -and still is- much in demand for back up vocals on countless albums by major stars as the legendary Lee Towers -he sold several hundred thousands of CD's- as well as other local superstars. But also Bobbie Eakes of Bold And Beautiful TV fame, used Jony for superb vocal assistence. Jony has been in country music most of her life but made 'trips' in other style as well. Her return to the music of her heart in 1998 was welcomed by almost everybody in the country music industry.

Her recent CD single 'Natural Man' gained quite a bit of airplay but failed to make it to the top. Plans for a follow-up however are in process and decisions soon will be taken.

Desperado & Jony de Boer shared the stage with such stars as Golden Earring, Lynn Anderson, Grant & Forsyth as well as Kenny Rogers and countless others.

In the early part of 1999 Desperado & Jony de Boer were the first ever band to perform in theatre shows only. Their participation on Bob de Jong's now famous "Country Music Hall Of Fame" made thousands of people aware of the integrity and quality of this excellent band. Right after New Year's Day of 2000 they will returned to Holland's classy theatres to do more of these shows. Also for the year 2001 they have plannned a series of these 'Country Music Hall Of Fame' shows.

Desperado & Jony de Boer de Boer, a band still on the move for more….!

In january 2000 MM Records released their brandnew album "Lonely Room" with a total of 13 great tracks. Lots of airplay and excelent reviews in various papers & magazines. Sales are going well through stores and after the performances in the 'Country Music Hall Of Fame' Theatre tour. The CD has lead them into many gigs in Holland as is Norway and Denmark
